I am a teacher living on the beautiful Emerald Coast. I recently moved here from New England and I don't miss the snow, at all! It was a lot of work getting ready for winter. I now have traded in my shovel for a fishing pole. Most Saturdays you will find me fishing, either surf casting or 4o miles out into the Gulf of Mexico with Captain Andy. It is a lot of work but you are greatly rewarded with delicious fish. I am still learning how to cook "Southern" but I am enjoying the journey. So far I have made gumbo, etouffee, red beans and rice, Mississippi mud cake, jambalaya, and smothered pork chops. Grits and grillades are still on the list along with ribs and pulled pork.
